Trekking Preparation

  • Conventional exercise routines which build strength, fitness and stamina, such as aerobics and light weight-training can be beneficial, particularly if your fitness level is less than desirable. But the best physical preparation is activity which simulates, as far as possible, the demands on your body which will be happening during your ascent and descent to the base camp. Hiking up and down hills with weighted back pack is key to success.
  • The Everest Base Camp is not to taken lightly. Get ready to hike with 5+kg for 4-6 hours a day and most in the higher elevation of (2500 meters to 5500 meters above the sea level).

ATMs/Money Changers/Bank

  • ATMs: There are several ATMs booths, at airport and inside Thamel where you can withdraw the cash. The maximum you can withdraw at once is NPR. 35,000 (US$ 350 approx.) and will get charged NPR.500 per transaction. And in the trekking, there is ATMs point upto Namche Bazar.
  • Money Changers: Money changers are easily available inside the airport and Thamel. During the trekking, if you have US dollars then you can exchange it.
  • Banks: Also, there are several banks in Kathmandu. And you can find bank up to Namche Bazar.
